Terms of Service

Last updated 2026-10-23

These terms are an agreement between you and the operator of SecLern ("we", "us"). Using the service means you accept them. If you do not, please do not use it.

1. What SecLern is

SecLern provides online certification study tools: lessons, practice questions, hands-on labs, games, exam simulations and study planning. All practice content is original and written to match publicly published exam objectives. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by CompTIA, ISC2, ISACA, Cisco, Amazon Web Services or Microsoft. See trademarks.

2. Who can use it

You must be at least 16 years old to create an account. If you are under 18, a parent or guardian should agree to these terms with you. Free tools need no account. We may suspend accounts that share access, resell content or abuse the service (see the Acceptable Use Policy).

3. Plans and prices

  • Free. Free includes the first module of each path, 30 questions a day, 3 labs and PBQs, unlimited flashcards and the free games. No card is needed and nothing is ever charged.
  • Pro Monthly is $15 per month. Pro Annual is $99 per year (about $8.25 a month). Prices are in US dollars unless a checkout page shows GBP or EUR.
  • Exam Sprint is $29 once, for 90 days of Pro access. It does not renew and never charges again. Afterwards your account returns to Free and your progress is kept.
  • Current prices and what each plan includes are on the pricing page.

4. Free trial and automatic renewal

Pro starts with a 7-day trial. A card is required. We charge nothing today. The checkout page shows the amount and the date of the first charge before you pay. If you do not cancel before the trial ends, your card is charged on day 7 and the plan then renews automatically each month or year at the price shown, until you cancel. We email a reminder before the trial ends. You can cancel at any time from Billing in two clicks, and cancelling during the trial means you are never charged.

When you cancel a paid period, you keep access until that period ends, then move to Free. We tell you the new price before any price rise takes effect and you can cancel before it applies.

5. Your right to cancel and refunds

If you are a consumer in the UK or EU you have a legal right to withdraw within 14 days of buying. Digital content is different once access starts: at checkout we ask you to ask for immediate access and to acknowledge that you then lose the statutory withdrawal right. We keep a record of that choice. On top of that, we promise a voluntary 14-day refund on any paid charge, so asking for access straight away does not cost you a refund. Full details, including how to withdraw or ask for a refund, are in the Refund and Cancellation Policy.

Payments are processed by Stripe, which acts as the merchant of record and seller for paid plans. Stripe collects and pays the sales tax, VAT or GST that applies, sends your receipt, and shows its own name on your card statement. Our Terms, Refund and Cancellation Policy and Privacy Policy still apply to your use of the service.

6. No guarantee of passing

Study tools improve preparation. They do not guarantee a result. Readiness scores are practice-based estimates, not promises. We never guarantee that you will pass.

7. Content and your data

Site content (questions, labs, lessons, design) belongs to us or our licensors. You get a personal, non-transferable licence to use it for your own study while your access lasts. Your notes, flashcards and progress belong to you. You can export your data and delete your account from Profile.

8. AI features

Ping and some recaps use AI models. Answers can be wrong, so check anything important against the official exam objectives. Do not enter passwords, payment details or other people's personal data. The Privacy Policy explains which providers process AI requests.

9. Availability and changes to the service

We aim to keep the service running but cannot promise it will always be available. We may change or retire features. If we remove something you paid for, we will refund the unused part.

10. Liability

Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or your statutory consumer rights. Subject to that, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or loss of opportunity such as a missed exam booking, and our total liability to you for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before it arose. The service is provided with reasonable care and skill, but we do not promise that it is error free.

11. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. The courts of England and Wales have non-exclusive jurisdiction. If you are a consumer, you also keep the protection of the mandatory laws of the country where you live and may bring a claim in your local courts.

12. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. For material changes we give at least 14 days' notice by email or in the app before they apply to you. Continuing to use the service after that means you accept them. The date at the top of this page shows the latest version.
